Vacancy

As a Software Engineer you are responsible for the development and maintenance of Relatics' software. It concerns next generation construction management software in which large complex construction projects manage their project information. You help think about setting up the backlog, developing software, writing automated tests and continuously releasing new software. Furthermore, you contribute to the architecture and technical requirements of the application. You are given the opportunity to work with the newest technologies: C# .NET Core, React, Azure, Kubernetes, SQL, Typescript, etc.

You do this in collaboration with other developers in a fully self-organizing Agile team.

If you have the drive to continuously improve software, are creative and enjoy tackling complex challenges, then this is the job for you.

Working week

Software Engineer
Joël Kema

During an enjoyable day, all new features are presented to each other. We work on a software package together, which is why it is fun to see what everyone has recently been working on.

I have a less enjoyable day if I face a complex issue and cannot seem to find a solution. I solve this by brainstorming with colleagues and defining a solution together.

Firsthand experience

The Product Owner indicates that users need a handier way of navigating through the software (infinite routing). How do you proceed?

For this assignment, you form a team together with two to three other colleagues. After that, a meeting is scheduled with the Product Owner and the Requirement Manager to discuss what this feature should look like. Then the work is split into a backlog-item and set as a priority. This priority depends on the level of customer value and technical dependency.

As a team you create the backlog. You develop the code, write automated tests and have the pull-request checked by a colleague. After this, once the feature has been adequately completed, the Product Owner can make the feature available to (specific) users by means of flagging, so this feedback can be taken into account.

Growth

At Relatics, there is no set growth path and there is plenty of freedom to develop. You are encouraged to join training courses and there is no maximum training budget. You are allowed time off to spend freely on personal development.
